Speaking Emotions by Terra James Book Review

This book is so powerful I'm not sure my review gives it justice, It's one of those books that is so amazing it needs to be read over and over.

My review:

Speaking Emotions is a powerful book. It’s about the author and her daughter’s journey with autism. I have worked with autistic children in my career as a teacher and empathize wholeheartedly. These children communicate with the world differently whether verbal or nonverbal. Their world is different than everyone else’s.

The book is written as a journal with entries and poems for each day. The naked emotion is riveting and sucked me in. It’s a short book and I read it a couple times because it was so compelling. I felt like I was living in her world. Excellent! Loved it!

The proceeds of this amazing book go to Terra's daughter to help with expenses.

The Lighter Side of Silliness Blog Tour

Blurb: Poetry: The Lighter Side of Silliness

On the following pages you will read some downright silly, funny, crazy, mysterious, strange, odd and different poems.

“A Feared Man” was written for my oldest daughter KayCee and for her love for, no other than Harry Potter.
“A Treasury Past” is a poem I wrote one rainy day when I actually had more than five minutes to myself and I wanted a epic poem.
“Kiss Attack” came from game my youngest use to play; he would grab our faces and yell KISS ATTACK!!! Then he would kiss us when he was a toddler.
”Lindy” is about a stuff blue puppy that was given to me before my youngest was born and how special it is to him still today.

“Stinky Toes” was written one day after my older son had taken his
old shoes off and his feet stuck so badly!
Each of these poems in the book all have some sort of connection to our family and home. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did in writing them!

Spotlight Poem:

Spring Dance

Rain falls at my feet,
Splish, Splash,
What a treat
Spring bash

Spring is here
With a cheer
That old man winter is gone
Up at dawn
To splish and splash
Mud puddle dash

In celebration to National Poetry Month for April, 2015, I have placed all six books on my blog for any interested readers to read for free, to help celebrate all poets and bring Autism Awareness.

I have a great love for my son who is Autistic who has taught me to see the world in a whole different perspective in return I pass this along within my poems I write. Hayden was 6 when we found out that he was Autistic, he faces several mental challenges in his daily school work but he is so smart with technology, fun, creative, funny, warm, sweet little boy who just sees the world in a different way. His dreams are bigger than the moon and his love for everyone is just as big.

All I ask is for you to help celebrate all those who choose to write this genre and for everyone who has a loved one who is Autistic or for someone who fights the daily battles of Autism first by leaving a review, and make a donation to Music for Autism.

Blurb: Poems, Dreams & More Vol.2

This volume of poetry is a collection of the previous book of Poems, Dreams & More with new poems added.
Poems, Dreams & More Vol.2 still shows two different worlds of writing, the softer side of me and the side of me that stills questions things. Poems, Dreams & More Vol.2; was a journey outside of my norm and into a world of learning and rebuilding my writing in a new direction than ever before. This journey took me to a place where I was finally settled and happy in my life and knew what my true dreams were of life, love, nature and liberty. Within this book you will find some of the best poetry, which were previously
published in volume 1, “Imagine”, “Many Miles Between Us” and new poetry, such as “Greatest!”, “Wait & See” and “The Haunting of Her Past”

Pre-Release Date; (No Reviews Until) March 25, 2015

Spotlight Poem:

Spring Time Joy

Lilies of white
Spring time joy
Petals one by one
Open up
In blossom
Of the sun’s ray
Birds singing
Nestling in the trees
Butterflies kiss
The lilies
Of white
Spring time joy
