Naughty Dancer by Candi Silk

Candi's done it again. For everyone who enjoys her brand of intimate action this is a must read!

My review
Naughty Dancer is an exciting read filled with tantalizing action! Lexi and Dan are a youngish married couple. She’s unfulfilled sexually, however, she loves her husband. He has this habit before sex of asking her dirty, explicit details of her strip tease life. She concocts an idea to go back to stripping and private parties to earn extra cash to pay down their debt with the bonus of tons of enjoyable sex. He husband agrees and they set it up. The twist is Zoey, a good friend of theirs who’s desperate and willing.

The story gets sweaty and intimate immediately. I enjoyed Lexi’s cunning nature. She’s not innocent on any level and has a dirty, dirty mind. Candi’s characters put on a sizzling performance in Naughty Dancer.

The Aroused Milf by Candi Silk

If you enjoy a good before bed or anytime any Candi title will do it. The Aroused Milf is Candi's latest. As flaming hot as all her titles she blew my mind with this one!

My review:
The Aroused Milf crosses a few barriers. Lisa and younger man Chase find themselves in a unique situation when romantic feelings for each other rise inside them. She is several years older and took in Chase as her adopted son when he was fairly young and she was still married. The marriage failed but she retained custody of Chase and gave him a good life. Now a grown man he has taken a roll in Lisa’s business and helped it thrive. He’s no longer a boy but a grown, developed and responsible young man in his mid-twenties.

At first I was a bit shocked but watching their relationship blossom, understanding the moral dilemma Lisa underwent I felt a connection to her. Love is love, they aren’t biologically related and they are both responsible consenting adults. There are plenty of steamy scenes that develop while the reader gets a first-hand look at who Lisa is. Her character is well developed and there is plenty dialogue to get a deep understanding of who Chase is as a person. The plot is straight forward yet shocked me at every turn.

Overall an enjoyable Candi title with depth that made my mind ponder.

Taste Me by Candi Silk

Candi Silk has quickly become one of my favorite erotica authors. Her characters are so bad and good all at the same time.

My Review:

Candi Silk’s Taste Me is dripping sweet! The simplicity and ease of reading makes this book an enjoyable and highly entertaining read. The protagonist Kara is a successful career minded woman who has neglected her sex life. better put her sex life is in the gutter. Her current boyfriend Roger is a boring guy who really does nothing for her. I couldn’t figure out why she bothered with him. In walks exciting and mouth watering Jonah the produce guy she meets while shopping who slips a special gift inside her bag. Jonah is a man that anyone would have a difficult time refusing.

Candi’s books are not only lively but she has a sense of humor that makes them hard to put down. Her characters know how to have fun using all types of naughty and mischievous ways.

Taste me will leave you licking the sugar off your lips!

The Naughty Wife by Candi Silk

As with Candi's many delicious titles The Naughty Wife is scrumptious!

My Review:

Candi Silk’s The Naughty Wife is an arousing novel with a slightly different feel than her others. Annie is a “happily married” woman. Truly, she is happy with her successful job, marriage, and beautiful children. But she’s feeling restless and rethinks her “happy” life realizing how mundane it is. Annie and husband Don have a good relationship and start to spice up their marriage which includes naughty escapades with others.

When I say a slightly different feel the story is written solely from Annie’s point of view and the reader gets a first hand glimpse into her personal thoughts and insecurities as she and Don embark on their adventures. As a married woman who has always been the good wife she has plenty of doubts, realistic doubts. There is also plenty of dialogue and action to drive the reader’s imagination into the other character’s heads.

As with Candi’s other books there is plenty of heated spice to awaken the reader and keep the pages turning.

Elle, thank you for inviting me to appear on your blog. It’s an honor to share thoughts on books with your readers.

Elle: Tell us a little about you as a person.

Candi: Now you have me laughing again, Elle. My fictional characters are much more interesting. I’m an optimist, and believe strongly in the positive things we, fellow beings, can accomplish in harmony as we journey through life. I like to try new things, different approaches, and I enjoy encouraging others to pursue their dreams. I’m a former teacher-educator, and organizational representative. Writing is like a second career and a new level of excitement and enjoyment!

Elle: So, what have you written?

Candi: I’ve written seven Erotic Escapades ranging from 51 to 254 pages. That’s a mixture of novellas and novel. Here are the titles: Taste Me, Hot Couple, Swap Me, Night Rogue, Find Me, Lust Driven, and Thrill Driven.

Elle: Give us an insight into your main character. What does he/she do that is so special?

Candi: My leading characters in all of my titles are strong women on a mission to test their personal boundaries of their sexuality, and “breakout” into their new discoveries of themselves. And there are plenty of  alphas to assist them. These are generally strong, self-sufficient women, but individuals that have experienced a typical upset or speed bump in life. That occurrence sets them on a self-discovery path that gets rather steamy. Let’s face it, if life is pristine perfect, people rarely make changes. Change usually takes place after there has been some kind of challenge and/or confrontation.

Elle: What is your latest book, and is it part of a series?

Candi:   My latest book is Thrill Driven which is a follow-up to Lust Driven. Although both are stand-alone stories, they follow one leading character, 36 year-old Marla, in her search to discover her full sexuality. What intrigued me in the writing of Lust Driven and Thrill Driven were the trigger points or events that led to Marla’s unexpected decisions, just like in real life. Fiction is fiction, but sometimes we wonder just how thin is the line between fantasy, fiction, and fact, or reality.

Elle: Where do the your ideas come from?

Candi: First of all none of my writing is autobiographical. I’ll get ideas from the news media and from events and experiences that I’ve learned about through the years. But like most writers I’ll also use my imagination as I ask “what if questions” when working on a story. Imagination is the house of invention when it comes crafting good stories to thrill readers, regardless the genre.

Elle: What genre are your books?

Candi:  I consider them to be erotica romance written from a woman’s perspective. The word “erotic” originated back in the middle 1600s and it means ~ tending to arouse sexual love or desire.  Romanticism in literary works is characterized by the emphasis on the imagination and emotions. So we are talking about human feelings. My titles easily fit that label. I make sure there is a mixture of emotional and physical feeling in my titles with plenty of mutual pleasure to go around. There is constant debate among the writing and reading communities regarding the classification of written works, especially in the areas of erotica, erotic, and romance. Lots of statistical numbers get tossed around, but what is more important is how a reader feels at the end of any given book.

Elle: What draws you to this genre?

Candi: I’ve always had an interest in psychology, and particularly human relationships; the basis of their formation; what sustains them; what causes them to fall apart. As you can imagine that naturally draws me to the erotica-romance combination. Although I read from multi-genres, I feel comfortable writing contemporary romance and erotica.

Elle: What is the hardest thing about writing?

Candi: Probably answering that question, Elle. I’m laughing out loud. So far I haven’t experienced writer’s block, and I don’t intend to. However, there have been times when I knew where I wanted a story to go, but I was uncertain exactly how I wanted to write it. When that happens I usually go ahead and write the options I’m considering at the time, then leave them for a day or two. Usually when I come back I have a fresh take on the situation. Self-editing can be a challenge because you’re balancing how you understand your story to be in your head against conveying it on paper so the
reader will have a good experience when reading. And that’s most important. As a writer you know what your story is about, but the reader doesn’t. It is of prime importance that the writer convey clearly the story to the reader. That’s challenging! A writer can write all they want in isolation, but the other half of that equation is reading. Will the reader “get” what the writer has written? Each book I write has a destiny; the hands of the reader.

Elle: Besides writing what are your favorite things to do?

Candi: I tend to be easy-going, and enjoy the calmer, simpler things in life, such as an entertaining book, maybe a little fun food, a touch of music, and always time with family and friends. I enjoy quilting when I’m not involved in writing another steamy story.

Elle: What is the easiest thing about writing?

Candi: For me it’s the joy of knowing I have the freedom to craft a story that will be enjoyed by readers around the world. It’s telling a story, having a conversation with readers whom I’ll probably never get to meet, except in print. I often think what an exhilarating experience it would be to discuss one’s book with each reader. But that silent conversation takes place when a reader opens a writer’s book and begins the story. At that point the thoughts of the writer and reader mingle in a romantic dance all their own.

Elle: Do you have a favorite movie and/or book?

Candi: My free time from writing is divided about 75/25 percent between reading constantly and watching movies or TV series. I haven’t had cable TV in several years, but I stream from Netflix movies, and TV shows such as Damages, Homeland, Covert Affairs, Justified, The Good Wife, House of Cards, and others as they catch my interest. I’ve read so many books, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Of course I enjoy romance, along with action, crime, espionage, political, psychological thrillers. And recently you introduced me to the mystical and paranormal with your Eye of The Storm. You’ll probably get me hooked on that genre as well!

Candi: Elle, thank you again for inviting me to be a guest on The Troubled Oyster blog. It’s always a pleasure exchanging thoughts with you. Your enthusiasm for the world of writing and reading is commendable. I’ve read all your books, and they have brought me hours of entertainment!

Tricks, Treats, and temptations Blog Hop

I have been invited to another blog tour via Candi Silk, Michael Smart, Robyn Roze, and Jerry Byrum. So check out their spooky posts if you dare...

1. Eilida in Eye of The Storm observes a scene that scares the wits out of her, " As she reached the final step, she melted along the wall until her head became flush against the door frame. Taking a deep and silent breath; her guts inside wrenching and twisting, she peered inside the cracked door, gasping at the scene before her eyes. Eilida tore down the steps at warp speed, descending the tree stuffed mountain, while tears cascaded violently down her cheeks. "

2. In Eye of The Storm after undergoing major personality changes and stranges unexplainable happenings Sunshine takes visits a hypnotist and a Dr. Of parapsychology and metaphysics
"I hadn’t expected that. In contrast, they looked like a werewolf with his vampire bride. Did vampires and werewolves even like each other? A question I didn’t really want to know, especially at my expense."

3. Sunshine finally meets her ghost, "Quiet words escaped from the small creases of her lips, “Remember.” Her face I knew from long ago, from a time of innocence before night terrors controlled my dreams." Eye of The Storm

4. How would you feel if a stalker was watching your every move? Would you feel his fearful eyes watching, waiting? From Eye of The Storm, "The man had been following them, although he was only interested in Sunshine, had been watching her every move, studying her."

5. Cleo in Baby Girl Book 1 may be young but she's full of self-preservation and spunk, "I had found a couple of pillows and a huge puffy blanket that I used to make myself a bed. It had been difficult sneaking them back and I didn’t go unnoticed. A bum had spotted me from his box, and he grabbed hold of a corner of the blanket said, “Where you going with that little girl? I think I’d like to keep it.” I kicked his face as hard as I could and made contact with his nose which jetted out from his sunken cheeks, and ran."

6. A little older Cleo or rather Justine, is still not one to put up with crap such as blackmail. She schemes a plan after breaking and entering her nemesis apartment in Baby Girl Book 2. "on a spontaneous notion I grabbed her blond wig and a ghostly crepe dress, stuffed them into my bag and used her lipstick to scribble over her letters, “It’s you who doesn’t belong.” A feeling of satisfaction welled up inside me as I marched out of her apartment wearing her blond wig. I hadn’t decided yet what to do with the wig and dress; however, the refreshing walk home, and the familiar sight of street vagabonds allowed an idea to form inside my head, and a smile crept across my lips."

7. Cleo most recently Shanna heads out to bust a case with La Tige in Baby Girl Book 3 but gets more than she bargained for, "A dim light shone from under a doorway. I grew closer and closer to the light as I eased towards it. From behind, a strong male hand wrapped around my mouth and forced me into him. Not a smart thing to do. I was always getting caught from behind so my fight or flight sense kicked in and I elbowed his ribcage hard."

Thrill Driven by Candi Silk

The title says it all about the insatiable women in this novella. It's hot, enjoyable, and difficult to put down.

I was able to bring Candi on today with a guest post with a little Q and A about Thrill Driven. Enjoy her witty charm and wild imagination.

Thanks, Elle, for the invitation to stop by and visit with you and your readers.

Elle: Thrill Driven is your latest erotic escapade. Why would women readers be interested in the story?

Candi: Great question, Elle, and probably the same question all authors ask themselves as they are writing a story. In the case of Thrill Driven, I’ve developed and brought together three women that have deep/intimate questions about their individual sexuality. Two of the women, Marla and Sherrie, both mid-thirties, are divorced from disappointing marriages. They’re not bitter and they aren’t whining, but they are on a mission to experiment with some intimate sexual desires that have lingered from their early twenties. Unexpectedly they meet a third woman, Jan, ten years younger, while dance-clubbing. Jan has not had the best of experiences with men. To add tension to the dynamics, Marla and Sherrie have invited one of their favorite bed-mates, Ray, a well-endowed 28 year-old hunk, to be part of their weekend. With that varied mix of sexual undertones, what can possibly happen in a weekend to deliver an enjoyable erotic story for readers?
I believe women and men readers will be drawn to the story because it pulls from some of the real-life thoughts and fantasies that most of us have had from time to time. I write erotic escapades that portray consenting women and men enjoying mutual pleasure. And my writing is tilted toward women’s consideration and perspective. My erotica tends to lead to happy, or pleasant endings.
Another reason women would be interested in reading Thrill Driven is because the story centers on the broad, and sometimes, hazy meaning of sexuality. Currently, in our world, there is much discussion regarding women’s sexuality, and women are leading that conversation. Most of my writing focuses on a “what if” type question. In Lust Driven, which is the beginning of Marla’s story, I posed the question to myself, What would have to happen, and what emotions would be at play for an ordinary, married woman to “break-out” and become a “lust driven” woman in one night, and with two men who are not her husband? The dynamics are interesting.

Elle: How do you respond to the criticism that erotica has no plot, therefore it has no point?

Candi: Take all of the plots that exist, and most authorities and references agree at most there are only about 20. Boil all of them down and you end up with one universal plot that is goal-centered: Someone wants something, and tries to get it. That applies to a 500-page Civil War novel, as well as a short erotica story, or novel. In one case someone is trying to win a major skirmish, and of course there are lots of sub-plots running through a Civil War epic.
In the erotica example, someone wants sex and tries to get it. A war
can linger for years, even decades. Sexual interactions can be as emotionally explosive as a war, and those intimacies can also be impulsive, the chemistry happening very quickly, or extended over a longer period of time. Most often, the common thread in erotica is sex, the physical interactions between and among the characters, so the story centers more on the physical aspects of the relationship, rather than hundreds of pages of garden strolls, hand-holding, porch swings and emotional introspection. If a preponderance of those elements are added to the story the writer will probably classify the book as romance, or maybe erotic romance, depending upon the amount and descriptive sexual content.
Sex is serious. Sex is how we all got here on this planet. Sex sounds like a pretty serious plot for a short erotica story, or a long erotica novel. Consistently erotica runs neck-and-neck with romantic suspense, and contemporary romance in women’s preferences for reading. Women represent 84 percent of buyers of the romance genre (which includes erotica), and men make up only 16 percent. Women readers fuel the romance genres.
The “point” of erotica relates back to the reader’s preference. What is the reader in the mood for? What type story would bring the most reading pleasure for the night? If I’m in the mood for a pulse-quickening erotica, I might turn to a Kirsten McCurran title. However, if I’m in the mood for a human interest, family drama, I’ll turn to a title of Elle Klass, a favorite author of mine. Very different books, with different intents, but equally enjoyable for me. For me that’s the joy of reading from different genres.

Elle: Where do your stories come from?

Candi: First of all, I do not write about my life, or any people I’ve known in the past, or currently. Often, I’ll get an idea from a news article. Sometimes a story begins when I think of an imaginary character. That was true for Lust Driven, and Thrill Driven. Other times I think of a situation, predicament, or set of circumstances, and begin wondering what character A, B, and C will do with that. But Elle, there is so much drama in real-life families, the work environment, the fitness center, the coffee shop, or any other place where people congregate, that there should be no shortage of stories to harvest.

Always exciting and always a pleasure. Candi, you have a way of bringing out those everyday drama's and turning them into something kinky and fun! Thank you Candi!

It has been my pleasure to visit The Troubled Oyster. I’ve read and noticed that interesting things take place here. I want you to know I’ve read your work; you’re a very talented writer. Keep writing your unique books!

My Review:

Thrill Driven by Candi Silk is an exciting, entertaining erotic read. Marla meets Sherrie and their mutual sexual desires for one another build eventually giving way to an evening full of naughty adventures. Marla’s two scorching hot male friends, Ben and Ray, have a connection to Sherrie as well and the women tell all in their meeting, not leaving out any juicy parts. As the novella heats up the women go out on the town and kick up some dirt and inflate others passions with their dirty dancing. They catch the eye of another woman Jan who is spending the evening with a boring male friend and soon the three women heat up the pages of the book with their lustful encounters.

The pages in this story flashed by with lightning speed as the character’s actions pulled me in. These women are naughty and no how to let loose and have fun. They teach each other how to enjoy. I loved how the women connected not only on a steamy level but through their life experiences and mutual female understanding. Candi did an excellent job with the dialogue between the women. It was open and hysterical as well as true!

A fascinating,light and sizzling read!

Hot Couple by Candi Silk a deliciously sensual read!

On today's book menu is an erotica novel that is both passionate and fun. I read the entire novel in one sitting! Yes, it was that good. I love Cand's style and the character's she created. They have a lot of naughty fun in Hot Couple.

Review

Hot Couple by Candi Silk was a wonderfully playful read. An attractive 30ish couple, Drew and Nicole, who spent their years developing and growing their professions neglected their sex life. Not uncommon in today’s world. The successful couple, still in love, decided to spice up their relationship a tad watching some kinky X-rated movies. The movie watching led to an idea of joining in with another couple for real. A successful, attractive younger couple, Michelle and Jess, had recently moved into their neighborhood.  Drew and Nicole agree on asking the younger couple if they’d be interested in swapping spouses.  That is where the fun starts!

The plot in Hot Couple is simple and the story has an easy flow, making it a quick, enjoyable read. Candi’s style of writing is descriptive and detailed but not vulgar. I add that because sometimes erotica can get tastelessly naughty. The character’s in Hot Couple get naughty in a fun, agreeable and light hearted fashion. There is a good mix between dialogue, word choice, kinky scenes and characterization to develop the story and personalities. Drew, Nicole, Jess and Michelle are  all intelligent, professional adults participating in explicit and consensual sexual acts. I fell in love in them.

Hot couple is a sweltering hot read that tickles the sexual desires of its readers leaving them ready for more. Within the pages I could feel the passion through each character. They take it slow and sensual, building the suspense for the final climax or two. This novel is tastefully written while effervescent and lively.

A fantastically fun read!
